The Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903. Since then, it has remained an icon in American culture. Many believe that Ford’s trucks are the best known in the USA and possibly around the world, too. Among those trucks, those in the F-Series remain notable. Dealerships, like those near Crest Hill, carry a wide selection of the F-Series, as well as other Ford truck models.

Here are three Ford truck facts.

Inception

The Ford Motor Company has many milestones under its belt. In 1941, the company started to produce Jeep for the US Military. In 1954, it introduced the Thunderbird and began crash testing its vehicles, and in 1956, it became the first company to be publicly traded. In 1948, Ford introduced the F-Series. It was considered to be radical in design as it was dubbed the Million Dollar Cab. In 2014, the 13th generation in this truck series was released in the form of the 2015 F-150.

Evolution

Through the F-Series’ evolution, these trucks continue to be workhorses. Most of the changes that have been made to every new generation were to improve the design. Mechanical improvements were also made and they have become friendlier for the daily driver. In the 1980s, however, the changes were to respond to the economic climate. The impact on fuel prices caused the company to begin producing a more fuel-efficient truck.

Today

The F-Series of today is affordable, strong and comfortable. Among those who use the truck to haul, lift and work, it does not disappoint. For those who like the style but prefer to utilize it to drive instead of haul, it is fuel-efficient, luxurious and technology-friendly.
