revelationrevolution1 While all of the twelve apostles lead very interesting and exciting lives in service not only to the early church, but also Jesus Christ himself before the foundation of the church, the apostle John may be one of the most interesting of all. John is responsible for authoring the Gospel According to John, 1st, 2nd and 3rd John, and the exciting book of Revelation which tells us of the end of this world and the beginning of the next.

His unique book that is filled with prophecies we are beginning to see take shape in the world today is just one among many of the things that makes John stand out from the other apostles in certain ways. While all of the apostles were known to have a close relationship with God and with Christ, not many of them can claim that God showed them the future of the entire planet and the fate of every soul that inhabits the world.

Another unique characteristic is the john apostle death. It’s worthy of noting that Christianity has never been widely accepted in the world. In fact, eleven of the twelve apostles all met rather violent deaths as they lay down their lives for the cause of the church. John owever, died peacefully due to old age and was the pastor of the church in Ephesus, which we now know as Turkey.

While pastoring this church, John was sentenced to exile, by the order of the Roman emperor, on an island called Patmos. It was during this time of exile, while making his home in a little cave we now refer to as the “Cave of the Apocalypse”, that John was met by his dear friend Jesus and told about the end of this world, in graphic details.

After John was released from exile, he returned to the town of Ephesus and went back to work pastoring and planting churches throughout Asia. He worked so hard and so tirelessly that he passed away approximately sixty eight years after the Crucifixion of Christ for no other reason than that his body was worn out and tired, and John was ready to be home with the Lord. The john apostle death was the easiest and most peaceful out of all of the apostles.
