When you are planning your next move, you want the experience to be the very best. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a handy set of rules to help you avoid many of the frustrations that often accompany moving? Thankfully, there are a good number of ways to alleviate the stress of relocating to a new home.

Whether you’re preparing for removals in Cardiff or anywhere else in the UK, the benefit of proper planning cannot be underestimated. Make no mistake about it; every move comes with its own set of unique challenges and problems. However if you follow a certain set of rules and guidelines then you can avoid becoming a victim of a rushed and reckless move.

Highlight Your Record Keeping Skills

First things first, generate a list of numbers that will be placed on each box. Take your time set aside a few moments to make a list of all the items you plan to take with you to your new home. Be sure to leave plenty of space to write out what each box contains.
Place a number on each box along with the details of what is on the inside. It’s a good idea to be very specific about the contents in each box. The more detailed you are, the easier and faster it will be to unpack and put things in their proper place.

Make Good Use of Colour Coordination

Here’s something else to keep in mind. Removals Services in Cardiff will go so much easier if you select a specific coloured sticker to represent every room in your house. Take each coloured sticker and place it in plain sight on the box next to the number. For instance, you can make your son’s room blue, your daughter’s room pink, your kitchen green, your dining room yellow, and so on.
Consider going one step further by placing an additional coloured sticker on the door leading to each room. This will give movers clear guidance on where to place things from the moment they arrive. Make set up even easier by posting a sign that reads “Place Boxes Here” to keep high traffic areas free from clutter.

Collect the Ideal Amount of Supplies

Now listen to this very carefully. Save yourself a lot of trouble by having extra supplies on hand during the packing process. As you might have already guessed, you have accumulated more things than you think. Put aside at least 10 extra boxes that can be used to pack those last minute household items like cleaning items, food, clothing and bedding. Besides boxes, you’ll also need heavy duty packing tape to seal boxes, packing paper such as unprinted newspaper and bubble wrap to safeguard your precious items.
