Primary Treatment

Primary sewage treatment is essential before further processes can be carried out to remove additional contaminants from the wastewater.
Secondary Treatment
The secondary treatment processes focus on removing suspended biological matter from the wastewater. Waterborne micro-organisms are introduced into the wastewater in a managed habitat to remove the biological matter that is suspended within the wastewater.
Tertiary Treatment
In some situations, chemical or physical disinfectants might be introduced into the water supply to remove certain contaminants which cannot be removed due to conventional primary and secondary sewage treatment methods. This is the last stage in the treatment process, after which the water is released into the environment.
