The N-series tractor was produced by Ford from 1939 to 1952. It was part of the series that included the 9N in 1939 and 2N in 1942. Those two models were produced in partnership with Harry Fergusen, but then they parted ways in 1945. The 8N tractor was produced in 1947. It had a 4-speed transmission instead of the 3-speed featured by the 9N and 2N. It quickly became the top-selling individual tractor in North America.

Several 8N ford tractor parts are unique to this model due to several modifications over the 2N model. This includes a 4-speed transmission instead of a 3-speed. Additionally, there was a new position-control setting for the hydraulics and a new PTO overrunning coupler that prevented inertial energy being sent back into the transmission. It was also the first model to feature independent brakes on the right and a part called a Proofmeter, which combined the speedometer, the tachometer, and the hour meter.

Another aspect of 8N ford tractor parts that is unique is their color. While the body was still painted red, the sheet metal – including wheel guards and body cover were all painted light gray. We have a full line of paint supplies to help your restoration be more true to the original. While many of the 8N’s features make the parts unique, the popularity of the model make parts more available. Whether you want an authentic restoration or to just keep working with your tractor, we have more Ford parts than any other brand.
