How a Construction Site is Born

The world has become adorned with man-made structures. Some of the most popular landmarks are skyscrapers that people live and work in every day. The average city and its metropolitan area have anywhere from 2500 structures to over 6,000,000.

These complex designs are not easy to create. Sometimes years of planning must be completed before any actual building can begin. Engineers, project mangers, and financiers are major contributors to the arrangement of the construction site. Although there is less time spent on the planning phase, smaller construction projects require the same key players.

There are many city ordinances that must be adhered to before building as well. Buildings must fall within a certain height in many areas. Depending on where the site is, some buildings must be a certain shape or color. Many communities do this to maintain the character they have established for themselves. Sometimes it is for historical or environmental reasons as well.

The average person may not consider all of the nuts and bolts, literally and figuratively, that are put into a successful construction site. The supplies and equipment used on a construction project are an industry in itself. Many of the machinery can be rented from project to project. Slaymaker Group is just one example of a company leading the construction industry in providing these resources to the latest construction sites. They distribute excavators, telehandlers, backhoes, boom-lifts, and many more tools on a rental basis.

Many construction companies may not need to own some tools that are made available for rent. This arrangement also makes those more expensive projects possible for many construction companies which lack the needed supplies and equipment. Slaymaker Group sells and repairs generators and electric motors as well.

Once the planning is completed and all of the needed supplies and equipment are retrieved the construction site can be set up. First, the foundation is developed with packed sturdy dirt. Following this, a thick hard concrete is laid. The framework is built up to support the walls and to create a floor plan. It is during this phase that any person passing by can hear the hum and buzz of the machinery flattening the surface, pouring concrete, and lifting wood and metal framework. They can see the huge machinery lifting and turning with no clue of how they are outsourced.
