If a business owner has a business or other commercial facility with high utility costs or inefficient cooling, it may be time to invest in Replacement Windows. There are a number of considerations that must be made to determine if replacement or repairs are right for the needs of the facility. Some of them can be found here.

The Cost of Window Repair
There are some situations where repairing the facility’s current windows can be costly, which is something that has to be considered. Since many older windows are single-paned, they may increase the energy costs of the facility by allowing heat in during the summer and out during the winter. It is also necessary to factor in the cost of maintaining older window frames, especially those made of wood since they are prone to rot, infestations, and mold growth.

Glass Replacement
While there is the option to simply replace the glass in the windows with a double or even triple pane option, this may not be effective if the window frame is not in good repair. Additionally, if only the glass is replaced, additional issues with drafts of other types of problems may occur down the road.

Window Replacement Options
If Replacement Windows are chosen for the facility, the cost will vary based on the method that is selected. Generally, there are two options to consider when replacing facility windows, and the one selected will likely be dependent on the budget for the project. The two options include:
* The Complete Tear Out: This includes removing everything including the sash, frame, and window. An entirely new window will be put in the spot. This is the most costly option.
* Replacement of the Panning System or Trim: This is a less-invasive option that will leave the current frame in place, but should only be used if the frame is still in good condition.

When considering if replacement or repair of the facility’s windows is necessary, be sure to give this ample consideration. It is important to weigh the options carefully to determine which one makes the most sense for the facility as well as the established budget.
