What it is today originated from the beautiful partnership of two like-minded fellows: Los Angeles’ donut icon Stan Berman and Chicago’s Rich Labriola, known for his high-quality bread and baked goods. Stan’s Donuts was born in LA, in the year 1963, a time when it was known for its indulgent classic donuts and when Hollywood stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Steve McQueen frequented the shop.
When Stan’s joined the doughnut shops of Chicago, it fit right in as a local, homey neighborhood shop. The exemplary old-fashioned donuts combined with rich coffee crafted from Papua New Guinea’s high-quality coffee beans became the perfect match. You can’t have donuts without coffee, right?
Stan’s Donuts went farther, creating new “whimsical” specialty donuts like the swirly Cinnamon Roll, the Biscoff Banana Pocket, the Nutella filled Pocket, Red Velvet, and more – all of which are luxuriously rich in flavor. Today, Stan’s Donuts manages to maintain their comforting aura while staying open to new, tasteful experiences. The coffee selection has advanced, with great carefully designed fine artwork onto espresso drinks, as well as introducing the modern cold brew and the unique almond milk chai latte.
