Does your community have trouble spots? For example, some areas and roads may be prone to flooding and in just a few minutes time, hard rains can make streets impassible and even dangerous for people to drive on. If only there were traffic warning signals which automatically warn drivers as soon as flooding conditions exist. Today, thanks to modern technology, there is a solution to this problem, in the form of high water detection systems.
What is a High Water Detection System?
Water detection systems work with special sensors mounted in the right locations. They can be placed at the desired water level and once water reaches this level, it triggers contacts to close and sets off the warning system transmitter. This sends a signal to the receiver and drivers can easily see the flashing lights and read the sign from a safe distance.
An Entire System When You Need It
Your warning system can be a single unit or you can have several in different parts of the street or area. Once the transmitter is activated, all of the units will receive the signal to turn on traffic warning signals.
Additional Uses
Besides flooding, you can use your water detection system to tell drivers when the road is wet. For example, sharp or dangerous curves may be hazardous in the rain and as soon as the unit sense water, it activates lights, providing a “slippery when wet” warning.
Power Options
If you wish, you can run AC power to your traffic warning signals. However, you might have a remote area or place where electricity is not easy to access. This is not a problem because you can choose to install a solar powered warning system. They use the power of the sun and will provide driver warnings, even in times of complete AC power failures.
