One of the most important factors for anyone completing a drug or alcohol recovery program to keep in mind is that recovery is a journey, it is not a single destination. In other words, just because you have completed a 30, 60 or ideally 90-day program, you are not finished with your Pasadena recovery process.

However, taking the first step and successfully staying in the drug and alcohol rehab program and completing courses, counseling, and therapy is a first step to the rest of your life. On your Pasadena recovery process, you will need to use the tools you learn in the treatment program to be able to respond to challenges in your life without resorting to using alcohol or drugs.

Immediately after Inpatient Treatment

The top Pasadena recovery programs start working with clients from their first day on the facility to plan for their successful transition to the home environment. This is often known as discharge planning or aftercare, and provides the client with the understanding that the recovery process isn’t over in 30, 60 or 90 days, rather it is a lifetime issue that will need to be addressed.

Typically immediately after completing the inpatient part of a Pasadena recovery program, clients will be encouraged to participate in an intensive outpatient treatment. This provides immediate and daily support as challenges occur for the person in recovery, limiting the chances of a relapse.

Ongoing Recovery

The top Pasadena recovery programs also have an Alumni type of program. This will allow a past successful graduate of the program to get immediate and intensive help if they feel there is a concern about relapse.

This is typically reserved for those who have not relapsed; as often intensive outpatient treatment or perhaps inpatient care will be required if a relapse does happen. Keep in mind, relapses can happen, and people can regroup, refocus and go on to lead sober lives in the future.

Different people may also find online groups or regular meetings such as Alcoholic Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous to be helpful as part of their ongoing recovery after Pasadena recovery programs. These programs are not a good match for all people, but they can be a great way to stay involved in recovery and even give back to individuals as they start on a clean and sober life after treatment.

Once you complete our Pasadena recovery at ASAP, we provide ongoing support for our Alumni. To learn more go to website.
